The Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Thoraxzentrum Ruhrgebiet was founded in 1981 and is one of the largest specialist departments in Germany. Here, we perform over 1,700 operations and over 3,000 endoscopies annually. The most modern equipment is used for our examinations and treatments. We are one of the leading centers in Europe for video-assisted minimal-invasive surgical techniques.
