The Thoraxzentrum Ruhrgebiet offers hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, contracted physicians, and patients the opportunity for a free telemedicine consultation.

Since 2021, the management of the Thoraxzentrum has implemented the technical requirements to provide telemedicine services through specialists in pulmonology, thoracic surgery, and thoracic oncology, while ensuring patient safety and data protection laws.

The legal framework for data protection and internet security requirements, in accordance with GKV and BÄK guidelines, is ensured:

• The names of patients and communicating physicians are visible to the performing physician.
• The terms of use for the video service are available in German and can be accessed online without prior registration (https://medical.cary.video).
• The video service contains no form of advertising within the video consultation.
• The video service enables video conferences with more than two participants (including the initiating physician) in accordance with the requirements of Annex 31b to the BMV-Ä.
• Number of participants: 1000
• Patients who wish to use the telemedicine consultation service do not need to register for it.
