In the Thoracic Outpatient Clinic, we treat approximately 14,000 patients per year.

The Department of Thoracic Surgery in Herne-Eickel was founded in 1981 and is one of the largest specialized departments in Germany. Since its establishment, over 40,000 patients have undergone chest surgery. Currently, we perform over 1,800 operations annually in the department, in addition to 50 outpatient procedures.

In the Department of Pulmonology, 4,500 inpatients are treated annually at the Herne-Eickel location, and approximately 1,300 annually at the Bochum location. Additionally, about 1,000 outpatients are seen at the Bochum location.

In Interdisciplinary Endoscopy in Herne, more than 3,000 bronchoscopies (airway examinations) are performed per year.

The Thoracic Oncology department at the Eickel location cares for approximately 2,000 patients within the ASV framework (Specialized Outpatient Medical Care). At the Herne and Bochum locations, the Department of Oncology treats 1,500 inpatients and 2,500 outpatients annually.
