Lung Cancer Center
In our certified Lung Cancer Center at the two locations in Herne and Bochum, we care for over 7,000 outpatients and more than 6,400 inpatients every year.
Interdisciplinary Thoracic Conference
Every Wednesday from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, we discuss all patients with tumor diseases of the thoracic organs, particularly lung cancer, in the conference room of the EVK. Medical representatives from the departments of pulmonology, thoracic surgery, hematology, internal oncology, radiology, and radiation therapy participate. Additional specialists are consulted as needed.
Continuing Education Program
We offer an extensive range of education and training for physicians, students, and nursing staff. The Augusta-Kranken-Anstalt Bochum is the teaching hospital of the University of Duisburg-Essen. Clinical Trials
To further advance progress in oncology and gain important insights into new methods, medications, and devices, we regularly conduct clinical trials and investigations. The results form the basis for modern evidence-based medicine.
